Inspiration Boards: African Feather Headdress

Spring is almost here which means…color, color, color!  Why should your wardrobe just get a make over, your home deserves a bit of a facelift too. We are going to show you a natural beautiful way to add pizzaz to any room without having to spend thousands! African headdress’ also known as juju hats are a beautiful and inexpensive way to make any wall in your home unique. These hats are worn by chiefs, senior dignitaries, prominent officials and important dancers in many indigenous tribes to Africa. These large bright hats consist of multi-colored bird feathers and come in a variety of colors and sizes. Take a look at the homes that have inspired out olio board for this week!

This white juju hat fits in perfectly with the cool blue palette seen in this bedroom with gold details. All subtle yet gorgeous!

Here we see a great contrast to the photo above. This bright pink juju hat is used to create drama against the dark wall panels as well as accent the variety of objects on the console below.

Again we see a juju hat used in a entry way setting. However here the juju hat in this photo serves as the focal point of this silhouette.

Last but not least we see an electic living area. The purpose of the juju hat in this scenario is to calm the already drama-filled space. The light pink feathered hat accents the hunter green wall beautifully without taking away from the antique plum sofa or the mid-century modern chairs.

Now take a look at our olio board! We used a variety of juju hats and the different styles of decor that can go with it!

Happy Wednesday!
